My name is Valerie Pantoja, owner of Zoomies Mobile Dog Grooming. My family includes my husband, our two children, our three dogs, Macy (15), Fiona (14), and Eva (2), and our Exotic Shorthair kitten, Rupert. I’ve pretty much always knew I would be working in the animal field. It’s all I ever worked towards.
I’ve worked in the grooming field for almost 13 years, running the day to day activities and managing in small businesses, as well as bathed, groomed, and educated pet owners about the necessities of grooming for their furry friends. I’ve worked with military working dogs, caring for and handling them, and in veterinary hospitals doing anything from reception to technician to dog training. I’ve worked with exotic birds, cats and small animals, as well, but I always keep grooming a constant. Whether it was grooming the dogs I would take care of as a pet sitter and dog walker, bathing the working dogs on base, grooming stray dogs to help them feel more comfortable and find a forever home, or even just maintaining a dog’s coat to keep them looking beautiful. I have always found happiness through grooming.
And so, I set my focus towards the grooming field, where I can give all the dogs in my care individualized attention, custom haircuts, and the attention to detail they and their pet parents deserve. This is also why I never charge extra for the things that I know help to better the life of the pet and their owners, like nail filing, special shampoos, de-shedding treatments, flea and tick removal, or anal gland expression. I have always put the quality of my work before quantity and know the importance of taking time to train a puppy for the life long process of grooming, making a nervous dog feel more comfortable and at ease, or taking extra precautions for a senior pet so their groom is completed safely, instead of moving as quickly as possible for the sake of maximizing the number of dogs I groom. This has always helped me to gain the trust of my doggy clients and creates a more relaxed atmosphere for a lifetime of maintenance.
I continue to further my education every year and am currently A.K.C. Safety Certified, Certified in Infectious Disease Control, as well as trained in CPR and First-Aid for Dogs.
I love dogs and grooming is not something I just fell into. I have worked and prepared my whole life to be the best groomer for your pets. I would love to show you how an extra caring touch can make a world of difference. I look forward to meeting you and your pups for their next groom!
